Joe Louis "The Champ" Golf Course will be reopening on Sunday, April 10th.
As many of you know, the Emerald Ash Borer infestation has greatly affected the Mid-West White Ash tree population. At Joe Louis we had over 600 trees that needed to be removed from the course. As you can imagine, that is a huge project to take on, and our team has been working extremely hard over the past few weeks to try and get the course cleaned up.
Currently, the clean up is still in progress. While we do have all of the dead trees cut down, we have not had the chance to remove all of them from the course. Any debris that is still on the course is moved away from playable areas as much as possible to avoid interference with your golf game. We understand this is not ideal and appreciate your patience as we work through this process.
Our team is doing their best to make this clean up go as quick and smoothly as possible. Please feel free to call the golf shop for the latest updates on conditions.
